I remember at the time the story was Andy was a fellow classmate to brandon flowers and he envied his athletic ability. They had a rivalry due to gym class antics but he recognized Andy's talent and sings about it in his talent of singing.

I feel like this song was always supposed to be in some kind of musical about millennial music. The main character jumps up on a table top, starts singing this, and its a whole cinematic experience.

Such an underrated band. Arguably one of the best debut albums ever made.

this song makes me ache. i remember back in maybe about 2019 i met and fell in love with this roadman type (if you're from the UK you know what i mean - i presented as a goth girl at the time, what a cliche). i don't know if a boy like him would feel the same way or as strongly but i know he was at least in some way attracted to me and i was to him (i thought i was a lesbian at the time lol) and nowadays thinking about him just makes me hurt. i remember at the time, he had a really conventially attractive girlfriend (i think? it was never clear..) and you know, for all my attractive cynicism that guys like him like in alt or goth girls or what the fuck ever i did NOT compare to her in looks - i couldn't have done that to another girl, and i don't like to think he would've done it to her either but i can't know that. theres these two towns in my county i have to drive though every now and again and every time i do it just hurts, because it always makes me think of him. i had so many other friends in that place but it always comes back to him - because i DID genuinely love him in my own stupid way, but the thing is he saw me as a woman and an unattainable lesbian, but i've realised this year i was completely wrong. i'm a trans gay man. and i know he'll never want me like this, so there's no point in me trying to contact him again - i wouldn't want to lead him on for however it'd hurt him but i can't emotionally afford to deny myself my own identity anymore. i feel like im in a finger trap. it hurts.
